My Wheel of Fortune Journey
My Wheel of Fortune Journey
Welcome to my Wheel of Fortune journey! I’m thrilled to take you along on my adventure as a hopeful contestant on one of America's most beloved game shows.
It all began in 2021 when I submitted my first application and audition video online. After not hearing anything back, I decided to give it another go in 2022, this time with a much more enthusiastic video. And it worked! A few months later, I got a call from a number in Burbank, CA. At first, I thought it might be a prank, but when I picked up, it was one of Wheel of Fortune’s casting directors! I stayed composed, and by the end of the call, she mentioned, “Usually, people are more excited to hear from me!” I quickly apologized, explaining that I thought it might be a scam.
Thankfully, I didn’t scare her off. Just a few days later, I received a Zoom invitation for an online audition! The audition itself was brief, just a quick meet-and-greet with the casting director that lasted about five minutes. After asking a few questions, she mentioned someone would be in touch to set up a group audition, which came just a couple of days later.
The day of the group audition, I was pumped and made sure to fuel up with coffee and Mountain Dew to keep my energy high! During the audition, I competed in toss-up rounds against four other contestants, winning five out of six puzzles. Afterward, we were placed in individual waiting rooms, called one by one, and asked to solve 16 puzzles (four at a time). Once I finished, the casting director thanked me, and that was it!
About six months later, I got an email asking if I had a sibling who might want to join me for another audition. I passed along my sister’s contact info, and we both received Zoom invitations. This audition was similar to the first, but this time, there were four pairs of contestants. After that, we were thanked again, and that was the end of it. That was back in July 2023, and by September 2024, I still hadn’t heard anything.
Since then, I submitted my third audition video on November 9, 2024, and my fourth audition video on May 5, 2025. Hopefully, the fourth time's the charm!
Update: Exciting news! On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, I received an email inviting me to schedule my online audition—and it’s officially set! I’ll be auditioning on Tuesday, May 27 at 8:20 PM. Wish me luck as I take this next step in the journey!
Stay tuned for more updates!
In the meantime, here’s a breakdown of the audition process. As hard as I try to keep this process updated, WOF changes it quite often, so be sure to check their website for the latest guidelines.
