As a complement to the course of the same name, I am also working on a manuscript for Bridging the Gap: Engaging 'Nones' with Spirituality and Faith, which offers a thoughtful and practical exploration of how faith communities can connect with the growing population of individuals who identify as having no religious affiliation, also known as the "Nones." Drawing on contemporary research, personal experience, and pastoral insights, this book provides strategies for building meaningful relationships, fostering inclusive dialogue, and creating spiritual spaces that welcome questioning and diversity. It challenges traditional approaches to evangelism and discipleship, advocating instead for authentic engagement rooted in compassion, respect, and understanding. As I look ahead, I’m also expanding my writing into the realm of fiction with my upcoming novel, Echoes of Acceptance: From Chaos to Connection. This heartfelt story explores the spiritual transformation of Kevin Langston, a gay man who embarks on a deeply personal journey to reconcile his identity with his faith. Spanning from the late 1960s into the 2020s, Kevin's narrative takes readers through the complexities of faith, love, and self-acceptance in the face of societal and spiritual challenges.

In Echoes of Acceptance, I delve into themes of identity, acceptance, and the transformative power of love and faith. The story follows Kevin as he navigates the emotional turmoil of rejection and, ultimately, discovers a place of belonging within a faith community that embraces him for who he is. The novel weaves a poignant narrative that resonates with anyone who has ever struggled to reconcile personal identity with spiritual beliefs. This fictional journey offers a deep, empathetic exploration of the intersection between tradition and transformation, providing readers with a story of hope and connection.

I’m in the final stages of completing Echoes of Acceptance, and I’m hoping to submit the manuscript to the publisher this summer. This novel is especially meaningful to me as it is based on my own spiritual journey, allowing me to bring a deeply personal and nuanced perspective to the complex themes of faith, love, and identity. Through Kevin Langston’s story, I explore the struggles and triumphs I’ve faced in reconciling my own beliefs with my identity. My transition into fiction offers a new way to connect with readers, blending emotional depth with the spiritual insights I explored in Futureproofing Faith. It’s both a reflection of my journey and a heartfelt exploration of the transformative power of faith and self-acceptance.
