Cook & Baker
Some of my earliest memories are in the kitchen with my Mom. While other kids were outside playing, I was often standing on a chair beside the counter, watching her measure ingredients, stir pots, and pull warm dishes from the oven. The kitchen was never just a place to prepare food. It was where stories were shared, laughter filled the room, and quiet lessons about patience, creativity, and generosity unfolded. Without realizing it at the time, I was learning that care and love could be expressed through something as simple as a meal.
My Mom always welcomed me into the process. She let me measure flour, stir sauces, and taste along the way. Sometimes I made a mess or something didn’t turn out quite right, but she treated every moment as part of learning. Little by little, the kitchen became a place where I felt confident, curious, and at home. Those early afternoons shaped a lifelong love of cooking and baking, and even today the kitchen still carries that same sense of comfort and connection.
Over the years, cooking and baking have become more than practical skills. They’ve become a creative outlet and a way to share joy with others. There’s something deeply satisfying about taking simple ingredients and turning them into something that brings people together around a table. Whether it’s a comforting meal or a celebratory dessert, food has a way of turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.
